Governor Alex Otti has expressed gratitude to the people of Abia State for their support over the past three years, describing their trust and encouragement as the driving force behind the progress recorded by his administration.
In a statement he issued on Monday following activities marking his third anniversary in office, Otti said a thanksgiving service held at the Trademore Event Centre in Umuahia provided an opportunity for reflection on the administration’s journey and achievements.
According to the governor, the event was a solemn moment to appreciate God’s faithfulness and acknowledge the role played by residents and supporters in what he described as the unfolding “Abia success story.”
“I want to sincerely thank Ndị Abia and everyone who has partnered with us on this journey. Your trust, encouragement, and steadfast support remain the cornerstone of our progress,” he stated.
Otti also commended the President of Living Word Ministries International, Brother Emma Okorie, alongside other clerics, for their prayers and support since the beginning of his political journey in 2014.
The governor noted that his decision to serve God with his household has remained the foundation of the successes recorded by his administration.
As part of the anniversary activities, Otti disclosed that he proceeded to Umuagu Ibeku, where he flagged off the construction of an ecumenical centre with a 1,000-seat capacity. He explained that the project was in fulfilment of a personal vow made years ago and clarified that it would be privately funded without the use of government resources.
He further revealed that his administration simultaneously flagged off the rehabilitation of the ₦1.3 billion Ubakala Water Scheme and Ariaria Water Scheme in Aba.
According to him, the projects are aimed at improving access to clean and safe water for communities across the state.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing development in the state, expressing optimism that with God’s grace and the continued support of the people, Abia would achieve greater progress in the years ahead.
