Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has disclosed that Nigeria and the Czech Republic are exploring stronger bilateral ties in trade, industrialisation, agriculture, healthcare, education and renewable energy.

This follows a meeting with the Czech Ambassador to Nigeria, Tomáš Výprachtický.

In a post shared on Friday, Odumegwu-Ojukwu described the meeting as an engaging session focused on strengthening relations between both countries through strategic partnerships and technical cooperation.

According to her, discussions during the meeting centred on technology transfer, agriculture, renewable energy, healthcare, education, industrialisation and other areas of mutual interest aimed at deepening economic cooperation between Nigeria and the Czech Republic.

She noted that the Czech envoy described Nigeria as a strategic partner with significant political and economic potential within Sub-Saharan Africa, stressing that the Czech Embassy in Abuja remained committed to facilitating both government-to-government and business-to-business partnerships.

The minister added that Výprachtický highlighted ongoing developmental and commercial projects across several Nigerian states, particularly in the agricultural sector.

Odumegwu-Ojukwu further stated that both sides also discussed the need to establish deeper institutional ties, promote sustainable development initiatives and create a joint commission mechanism to coordinate cooperation in critical sectors.
