Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on Friday joined stakeholders and political associates of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) across the state in what he described as a key step in preparations for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement, the governor said, “Today, I joined stakeholders, supporters, and political associates of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) from across Bauchi State as we intensified preparations for the 2027 general elections.”
He noted that the gathering marked a major milestone for the party, with the formal unveiling of its governorship candidate and running mate.
“The occasion marked a significant milestone for our party as we officially unveiled Dr. Yakubu Adamu as our governorship candidate and Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar as his running mate. I am also deeply honoured by the confidence reposed in me as the party’s senatorial candidate for Bauchi South.”
Mohammed said the development reflects a growing effort within the party to consolidate support and strengthen internal cohesion ahead of the polls.
“This development reflects our collective determination to strengthen unity within the party, expand our support base, and position ourselves for success in the 2027 elections.”
The governorship candidate, Dr. Yakubu Adamu, according to the governor, pledged to build on existing developments in the state while promoting inclusive governance.
“He emphasized the need for inclusive leadership, continuity in governance, and greater collaboration among party members. He also appealed to former aspirants and supporters to set aside their differences and work together in the interest of our shared vision for Bauchi State.”
Adamu also reiterated commitments to infrastructure expansion, economic growth, youth empowerment, and social welfare initiatives.
“He reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth, youth empowerment, and social welfare programmes that will improve the lives of our people.”
Governor Mohammed expressed appreciation to party members for their loyalty and urged continued unity ahead of the elections.
“I expressed my gratitude to all party faithful for their unwavering loyalty, dedication, and support. I urged everyone to remain steadfast in their commitment to the party and its candidates as we continue our journey toward a brighter and more prosperous future for Bauchi State.”
The event signals an early mobilisation drive by the APM as political activities gradually build momentum toward the 2027 general elections.
