LASU VC hails staff commitment, urges renewed dedication on workers’ day

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, has commended members of staff of the institution for their dedication and contributions to the university’s growth as workers across the world marked International Workers’ Day on Friday.

In a message released to commemorate the annual celebration, Olatunji-Bello, on behalf of the university management, extended warm greetings and appreciation to academic, non-academic, technical and support staff of the institution.

She noted that Workers’ Day, celebrated globally every May 1, recognises the vital role of workers in societal development and progress.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the steady advancement and growing reputation of LASU as a centre of excellence have been made possible through the collective efforts and commitment of its workforce.

She praised the resilience, hard work and dedication of staff members, stating that their contributions continue to strengthen the university’s vision of becoming a leading institution in West Africa.

Olatunji-Bello said the achievements recorded by the university over the years demonstrate what can be accomplished through unity, shared purpose and commitment to excellence.

She also urged members of staff to use the occasion as an opportunity to renew their commitment to the values of innovation, integrity and collaboration, especially in a rapidly changing global environment.

The Vice-Chancellor added that the institution’s strength lies in its ability to adapt, grow and remain focused on delivering quality education and sustaining standards of excellence.

She encouraged workers to see the celebration not only as a recognition of past accomplishments but also as a moment to recommit themselves to the goals and ideals that define the university.

Olatunji-Bello concluded by wishing all staff members a happy Workers’ Day, reaffirming the institution’s slogan, “We Are LASU, We Are Great.”
