Governor Peter Mbah on Wednesday said his administration remained committed to transforming education and healthcare in Enugu State through innovative and sustainable initiatives.

Mbah stated this after hosting former Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, in Enugu, where both leaders held discussions on the future of education, healthcare and sustainable development in the state.

According to the governor, the meeting centred on the Smart Green solar-powered schools initiative being implemented across the 260 wards in the state.

“Our discussions focused on the Smart Green solar-powered schools initiative currently being rolled out across the 260 wards of Enugu State. Beyond providing a modern learning environment, these schools are designed to integrate essential healthcare services for children, ensuring that education and wellbeing go hand in hand,” Mbah said.

The governor also expressed appreciation for Osinbajo’s commendation of the state government’s investment in education, noting that the recognition would further strengthen his administration’s resolve.

“I appreciate Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s kind words and recognition of Enugu State’s bold commitment to education, particularly his acknowledgment of our education budget as one of the highest allocations by any state in the country,” he stated.

Mbah added that his government would continue to prioritise policies and investments aimed at creating opportunities for children and driving innovation across the state.

“His commendation further reinforces our resolve to continue investing in a future driven by knowledge, innovation and opportunity for every child in Enugu State,” the governor added.
