Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, on Wednesday said Nigeria and Rwanda were exploring new strategies to deepen bilateral cooperation following engagements at the Africa CEO Forum in Kigali.

Odumegwu-Ojukwu disclosed this after attending a working dinner hosted by Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olivier J. P. Nduhungirehe, at the conclusion of the forum held in Kigali.

Also present at the dinner were Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Moses Rugema, alongside other government officials.

According to the minister, the meeting provided another opportunity for both countries to review and strengthen areas of mutual cooperation.

“It was another great opportunity to re-evaluate and advance strategies towards strengthening our bilateral cooperation,” Odumegwu-Ojukwu stated.

She further revealed that the Rwandan foreign minister expressed appreciation to Nigeria for granting visa waivers to Rwandan citizens, describing the move as significant in advancing Africa’s shared continental goals.

“Minister Nduhungirehe also expressed Rwanda’s appreciation for Nigeria’s visa waiver for Rwandan nationals, as a positive step towards advancing our shared continental objectives,” she added.

Odumegwu-Ojukwu also conveyed the appreciation of the Nigerian delegation to the Government and people of Rwanda for what she described as warm hospitality and constructive engagements throughout the forum.
