Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of delaying the release of social media personality, Justice Chidiebere, popularly known as Justice Crack, despite reportedly meeting most of his bail conditions.
The allegation was contained in a statement shared on Sowore’s official page on Thursday.
According to the statement, Justice Crack has fulfilled all bail requirements except the submission of his international passport.
Sowore claimed that the passport remains in the custody of the DSS and has not been released to the defendant’s legal team, making it impossible to complete the bail process.
He further alleged that the bail conditions may have been intentionally structured to make compliance difficult and prolong Justice Crack’s detention despite the court granting him bail.
“It now appears that the bail conditions themselves may have been deliberately designed to make compliance impossible in the first place,” the statement read.
