The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday congratulated Professor Segun Aina on his appointment as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) by President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke described Professor Aina, a Computer Engineering scholar at Obafemi Awolowo University, as an outstanding academic whose contributions to scholarship have significantly broadened knowledge in his field.

He said the appointment by President Bola Tinubu reflects a recognition of excellence, competence, and a strong academic record, adding that it underscores confidence in Aina’s capacity to lead a key institution in Nigeria’s education sector.

Governor Adeleke expressed optimism that the new JAMB Registrar would further strengthen the board and promote academic excellence nationwide, noting that his background in academia had well prepared him for the responsibility.

“I am most delighted to learn of the appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). At 39, he has demonstrated exceptional capacity, and it is heartwarming that President Bola Tinubu has found him worthy of leading such a critical institution in our education system,” the governor said.

He also commended the President for the continued inclusion of Osun indigenes in key national assignments, urging Aina to use his tenure to project the state positively through effective leadership at JAMB.

Governor Adeleke further extended congratulations to elder statesman, Professor Olu Aina, describing the appointment as a source of honour to the family and academic community.

He wished the new registrar a successful five-year tenure, expressing confidence that his administration would bring greater distinction to Osun State and Nigeria’s education sector.
