The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has scheduled April 28 to 30, 2026, for the written examination of applicants seeking recruitment as police constables nationwide.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by Abimbola Adebisi, the exercise will be conducted across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In Lagos, the examination will take place at the Police College Ikeja.
The statement noted that only candidates who successfully passed the earlier physical and credential screening would be eligible to participate in the examination.
“The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has fixed 28th – 30th April 2026 for the Written Examination for applicants seeking enlistment as Police Constables… Only candidates who successfully passed the physical and credentials screening are eligible,” the statement read.
Eligible candidates have been directed to log on to the official recruitment portal to print their examination invitation cards, which contain details of their test schedule and venue.
The commission also outlined mandatory items for candidates on the examination day, including a pen, National Identification Number (NIN) slip with a clear photograph, and the printed invitation card.
Applicants are also required to appear in white shorts, white T-shirt, and white canvas.
The PSC reiterated that the recruitment process is free of charge and cautioned applicants against falling victim to fraudsters or engaging in any form of inducement.
“The recruitment process is entirely free and any form of job racketeering, scams, or financial inducement will be met with the full force of the law,” the commission warned.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Tijani Fatai, urged all eligible candidates to adhere strictly to the guidelines, arrive early at the venue, and maintain orderly conduct throughout the exercise.
